Introduction
Like most historic houses, Fota has seen many changes over the centuries. Many of these have been alterations to the fabric of the house itself.
This module will give you an insight into some of the reasons why and how Fota was remodelled by John Smith Barry in the 1820s. The objective of this unit is to encourage students to question what buildings can tell us about the societies that created them. To see the related Teacher's Notes for this resource, click here.
